There is a Chinese idiom that always appears in my mind. It is told by those old folks in my family since I was a young kid. They always said that "要割禾,就要先弯腰". This meaning of the idiom is actually saying that, when it is harvest, you have to bow yourself in order to reap the harvest. The deeper meaning of this idiom is actually mean that, a person must be humble no matter how strong you are or how many knowledge you own.
This idiom had been marked inside my mind. It always reminded me to be humble. I like to be humble and I need to be humble because i don't have anything that i can or able to show off in front of anyone. Nowadays, most of the people like to show off their talent or their wealth. For example, hand phones. People around us nowadays are chasing after branded and trendy hand phones, whenever there are new models released in the market, they will try to get one, after that they will show off their new phones in front of their friends.
It is not wrong to show off once a while, but when those people showing off, do they ever think of the others feelings? Maybe the one who do not have the ability of showing off will feel hurt, will feel sad or even worst will make them to stay away from the one whom showing off. Soon, the one who do not learn to be humble will have less and less friends. So, please be careful when next time you want to share something you are proud of, do not be too excited, please do care about the person's feeling that you are talking to. Last but not least, learn to be humble and you might realize people around you will like you even more than before.
